What exactly is the Fit Collective PROGRAMMING all about?

First of all, this is something we love to talk about. At Fit Collective you just SHOW UP, and the thinking is taken out of it for you. No more roaming aimlessly around the gym trying to figure out what you're going to do or if you're even doing it right. And is it really going to get you to your goals?

We pride ourselves on having a highly adaptable program, that offers three tiers of options to suit all levels of abilities. On top of that our coaches are there to help guide you and help you choose which option will be best for you, daily. Every day our program changes, as does the stimulus and what goals we have for you to ensure you are making progress every day. 

So, what does this all mean? 

Here are our three tiers of programming to give you a more in depth look at what to expect in our FIT classes. 

DEVELOPMENT 

Our development stream focuses on just that, the development of skills, movement and fitness. 

This is not necessarily just directed at beginners, but where the majority of our beginners start and stick with for at least a few months or more. 

We give the option for the individual to choose their weights and to choose from a different set of movements to work within their abilities. 

Again, the coach is there to help you decide which option will be best for you, based on your ability level and what goals you are striving for. The coach will be able to answer questions like, what is the stimulus or goal of this workout and how should I choose an appropriate movement or weight to ensure Im reaching that? 

We highly suggest utilizing our Beyond the Whiteboard app (BTWB) to track your progress for what weights are used, reps schemes, time domains etc. Ask a coach for more information on what our BTWB app is! 

FITNESS 

Our fitness stream focused on the majority of our membership base, after they have developed certain skill levels and movement capacity. 

This stream is for those who have a good knowledge or experience of our programs or previous exercise and fitness experience. It is also designed for those who are competent or capable of a little more advanced movements or heavier weight options. 

This area also has suggested weights and movement options for those who are looking for more of a challenge. The coach is always there to help you choose the appropriate weights and movement options to suit your goals and what the intended stimulus of the workout is for the fitness stream and you as an individual.

PERFORMANCE 

Our performance stream of programming is for those who are looking to reach more specific goals. For example, those looking for higher level of strength or conditioning, or looking to advance in certain skills with olympic weight lifting and/or gymnastics. 

This stream is for those who have developed a very good foundation of complex movements, who have been tracking their progress in our Beyond the White Board app for some time and are able to make more independent decisions on choosing weights and complex movements within their abilities. 

Even in our performance stream, the coaches will be giving insight and direction how how to choose the most appropriate option for you as an individual to ensure you're on the right track to your goals.

Now, all three of those options explained - one thing to keep in mind.... 

IT IS ALWAYS OKAY TO SCALE AND MODIFY! We encourage it as a matter of fact. 

Scaling and modifying to your own abilities is what allows us to provide more personal and individual programming in a group setting. It allows YOU the space to work on YOU, even in a group setting. This is where your goals will be pushed and met. 

You may choose development one day  and fitness on another. You might choose fitness for the strength component of our day because you are more advanced or competent in the lifts, but you feel a bit weaker or unsure of the conditioning piece so you choose development - this is totally OKAY! There is no one size fits all and we encourage you to explore the options, but always know that you have a coach there to help you make these decisions so you arent feeling overwhelmed by options! (Kinda like Marble Slab... too many options, gets overwhelming!) Let us do our job, help you make those decisions and you can have peace knowing you're working towards your goals every single day!
